Version 1.0 Only works with Flashpoint Resistance versions 1.85 and above due to event handlers in config.cpp
*Note:This addon uses heavy scripting and alot of custom animations. If you are using a low-end computer
you may experience some performance issues. The Addon was built on a 1.1 Ghz and 1.4 Ghz AMD
processor with 384-512 Mb RAM, GeForce3 machines with very low to no performance decrease in
gameplay. If you use lower end machines you MAY notice different results. This addon has been
extensivly tested on both local and dedicated servers (100% linux compatible now, BETA wouldnt
run on linux servers) to insure proper multiplayer performance.
Disclaimer: This is an unofficial addon, you know the drill.If you install it and your game goes *BOOM*

This is an addon for Operation Flashpont Resistance v1.85+, It adds 12 F/A-18 Hornets in 3 different
color schemes. The addon is loosely based on the real life naval reserve squadron VFC-12 The Fighting
Omars and The US Marine Fighter Attack squadron VMFA-251 "Thunderbolts". VFC-12 is the premiere US
navy mock agressor training unit providing top notch air to air flight training for the carrier
fleets of the US navy. VMFA-251 is US marine Fighter attack squadron based at MCAS Beaufort, SC.
This addon is released as is to the public, do not modify the addon in anyway.
*Note:If you want to retexture or modify the addon in anyway you MUST contact me (hudson) at the email
addy above. Do not use or modify the config.bin, the config.txt or any .hpp or .sqs script files
included in this addon. If you need help with or would like to use any of the scripts included in
this addon as part of your projects you must first contact pennywise (pennywise@radishville.com).
- Animated cockpit canopy. This is opened and closed when a player or AI unit gets into or out of the aircraft.
- Animated folding wingtips. These are user controlled. Use the "Fold wings Up" and "Fold Wings Down" actions
in your action menu.
- Animated arrester hook. This is also user controlled. Use the "Raise Hook" and "Lower Hook" actions in your
action menu.
- Animated Heads Up Display.
- Animated custom landing gear. This is also user controlled. Use "Raise Gear" and "Lower Gear" actions
in your action menu
- Simulated sound barrier. The addon is scripted to play a vapor cloud shockwave animation and sonic boom sound
when the aircraft reaches 825 Kmph. This is not the real speed of sound. It is a simulated speed that we came up
with. We dont need aircraft ingame moving at 1400 Kmph so we made up a more game friendly sound barrier speed.
- Very short takeoff and landing. This is to simulate carrier takeoffs, no scripts needed. Mass in geometry
model has been tweaked to make for a very fast and easy takeoff. Flaps friction has been raised to make for
slower landings.
- 20 new sounds. Folding wings, landing gear, canopy, weapons, AA warning, to many sounds to list.
- Fixed Geometry Model from BETA version. You can no longer walk thru half of the plane. No more getting
stuck on the nose of the plane.
- Fixed Fire Geometry Model from BETA version. You can now shoot and kill the pilot. No more giant invisible
force field around the plane.
- New Textures
- Incoming AA warning light and buzzer. This is automatic. When your aircraft is locked onto and fired at
with a missile or rocket you will hear a warning buzzer. Also a "Warning" light will flash on the top left
hand side of the cockpit instrument panel.
- ALR-67 countermeasure system with working chaff. Automatic and manual countermeasure deployment. Chaff will
stop most incoming missiles. It will not however stop missiles launched from side shots, head on shots, or
multiple volley shots. Player can select the chaff manually and fire at will. Also works automatic for player
and AI when shot at with a locked missile.
- CBU-87b Cluster Bombs.
- Server side and client side code utilized to ensure proper animation and functionality for every player. This
means the addon won't crap out on you in a multiplayer game. No more ghost animations or animations not working
when they should.
- Scripted to control AI. AI uses all features of the aircraft as expected. AI speed is controlled now. AI speed
settings are as follows. (This is a general speed found by following AI in the editor) Speeds for speed modes
set with waypoints are, Limited 310 Kmph, Normal 600 Kmph,and Max 900+ Kmph.

If you want to start the aircraft ingame with the wings folded up, simply add the
following code without the quotes to any units initialization field "agvF18foldwing=true".
This addon contains an added feature to mission makers. An optional popup dialog that enables the pilots to select
between different spread patterns for the cluster bomb. This extra dialog feature can be enabled by adding
'#include <Rad_F18\CBUDlg.hpp>' in the description.ext file for your mission. When
adding this code the F18s carrying CBUs will gain a new action in the action menu
"Setup CBU". After the pilot selects the action the following
popup dialog appears. If you dont include
'#include <Rad_F18\CBUDlg.hpp>' in your 'description.ext', you will
recieve a resource missing dialog. In this case, the addon automatically
configures the CBU settings to default settings and you can play without the dialog.
At this point the pilot may select between 6 different altitudes the bomb will release its bomblets.
The higher the altitude the greater the radius the bomblets will spread. Pilots simply click once on the
height/spread setting they would like and then click on select configuration at the bottom of the dialog.
The settings are held until the pilot uses the setup menu again. If the menu is never activated then the bomb
will be released at the 50M/150M default setting.
Due to the custom animations 'gearRetracting' had to be set 'False'. For those who like to land without gear down,
this may cause an undesired behavior when landing.
If you dont include '#include <Rad_F18\CBUDlg.hpp>' in your 'description.ext', you will
recieve a resource missing dialog. In this case, the addon automatically
configures the CBU settings to default settings and you can play without the dialog.
