Useful tool for Operation Flashpoint

With the UnitInfo Console you can easyly get informations about units in a mission

Additionaly all units can be watched by a camera - finished in November 2004



The Unit Info Console:


1. ListBox of the console. Here all units are listed that are in a triggerlist/array.
The listbox has a slider, so if there are to many units you will be able to scroll through them.

2. Unit type:
V: Vehicle; T: Tank; A: Air; S: Ship; M: MG; C: Crew - (only after refresh, button 7).

3. Shows the number of elements in the listbox.

4. Show and hide the UnitInfo console.

5. Turn on and -off camera. The button changes from "Camera" to "CamOff".

6. A list with informations about a unit, informations are shown with "hintc" - mission pauses.

7. Refreshes the listbox.
(Units, which got out of their vehicle, are in the listbox after refresh - only if you used a trigger fo fill the listbox!)

8. The listbox changes to the units that are in array "UnitInfoFavorites" (Favorites are defined in "Init.sqs" or with console (F+)).
The button "Fav" changes to "All". If you push "All" the listbox switches back to normal mode.

9. Adds the marked unit to favorites.

10. Deletes the marked unit out of favorites.



The camera console + additional functions:



1. Position display of the relative X-,Y-,Z-coordinates of the camera to the selected unit.
You can edit all three coordinates!

2. Chooses the previous unit in the listbox as camera target.

3. The camera target changes to next unit in the listbox.

4. The camera position (No. 1) changes to the new coordinates.

5. Pushing the button "Pos" results in the camera beeing fixet at the position of the unit and keeping the direction of view. The camera no longer follows the movement of a unit. The button changes to "Unit". Pushing "Unit" button lets the camera target the unit again.

6. Show and hide the camera console.

7. X- and Y- coordinates zoom in, the Z- coordinate will not be changed!

8. X- and Y- coordinates zoom out, the Z- coordinate will not be changed!

9. The camera position changes 90° clockwise.

10. Pushing "X", the slider for finetuning X-,Y-coordinates appears. Push again and the slider disappears (For slider use read 13. to 15).

11. Pushing the button "Y", the edit fields for camera position (No. 1) changes to the positon of the activ unit.
"Y" changes to "#"; button "Set" changes to "NewPos" and under the console a new console element appears.
(look at picture; only possible on activ camera!).
Now you can change positions of units and objects or give orders.
Just fill in new coordinates (No. 1) and apply with "NewPos".
(Beware: Now this are absolute coordinates that mostly donīt fit to the direction of camera!)
Later, when the right position has been found, you can change it in the init line of the unit/object with the īsetposī order.
All the other buttons of the camera controls are still working!
Changing position of a unit or object - the camara will follow.
Orders can be written into new field (No. 16) then apply with button "x" (No. 17)
(If you use wrong orders,  nothing will happen or you'll get the normal OFP failure signs.)
Pushing the button "#" the console changes to normal camera mode.

12. The button "Z" opens the finetune slider for the Z- coordinates of camera on the left.

13. The arrow-buttons of the finetune sliders:
Top slider: The camera angle changes 5°. (The angle can be changed in file "UnitInfo1.0\SliderHSetup.sqs").
Left slider: The height changes 0.5 m. (The step range can be changed in file "UnitInfo1.0\SliderVSetup.sqs").

14. Clicking on the slider itself lets the values change in greater steps:
Top slider: The angle of camera changes by 15°.
Left slider: The height changes by 5 m.

15. Arrow slider postion. The normal position is "0", in the middle.
Clicking left / right or above /  below the arrow position will let the values decrease or increase.
Top slider: Slider range is -180 to +180. Values are equal to angle changes of camera position at X-Y-level.
BY CLICKING AND HOLDING THE LEFT MOUSE BUTTON YOU GET A STEPLESS 360° SIGHT!!!
Left slider: Slider range is -50 to +50. Values are equal to changes of camera position at Z-level.
Holding the left mouse will result in a stepless height changing of camera position.

16. Here you can fill in your orders (only if camera is activ).

17. With this button you call the order in field No. 16.


With the button "Esc" (Escape, on your board) you can close UnitInfo 1.0. An activ camera will be deleted too.

Installation:

Copy the folder "UnitInfo1.0" and paste it into your mission.
If you donīt have a "Init.sqs" or a "Discription.ext" file: Copy the "Init.sqs" and "Description.ext" in the "UnitInfo_1.0" folder and paste them into your mission.
If you use your own "Init.sqs" and "Description.ext": Paste the content of the UnitInfo "Init.sqs" at the beginning of your file. For adding the "UnitInfoDescription.ext" to your file, read "Info.txt" in folder "UnitInfoData".
